TRAINING

I specialize in "Trail Horse" training, using natural obstacles such as water, mud
and creek crossings, timber crossings, and hill climbing. Your horse will get plenty of
miles put on them in Blue & Gray Park. The park is a great area for working colts
and even the experienced trail horse. Wildlife sightings are also a regular occurrence
in the park. Turkeys can be very entertaining as you ride over their nest.

I am experienced in riding most breeds, including gaited horses and drafts.

I may take some of my training horses to "Windmill Arena" on Wednesday evenings to sort cattle. It's good for the horse to be exposed to cattle.

FEES - Payment is due on arrival of horse.
  • $500.00 for 30 DAYS, includes Board and Feed.
  • UNBROKE COLTS WILL REQUIRE 60 DAYS. THE 1ST MONTH PAYMENT IS REQUIRED.
  • $250 for Two Week Sessions (Saddle broke horses only).
  • Days missed due to weather are credited.
  • Two guided rides or lessons with horse in training included in cost.

Your horse is ridden through our obstacle course, on the trails at Blue & Gray and in our round pen.

By the end of each session, I want you to be riding your own horse on the trail, either
with me or alone.

Excellent mare - loved to work for you.   Cowboy curtains - interesting obstacle.   Some of our boarders go out and about in the park and pick up cans with their horses. This is a really good training tool.

Some young horses playing dress up!

These are 2 yr olds - half brother/sister....Kelly is terrorizing them - HA!  Another young gelding being sacked out.

He looks like he is thinking "You Got To Be Kiddin".
Somewhat of a "flat ball", but has been pumped up and ready to go
.

Doesn't he look scared?

Bucket, who is broke, needed some time in the round pen;
going to the Ultimate Horse Challenge in September.

Bucket, Kelly's gelding.

Snapping a bullwhip off a 2 yr old.
The owner LOVED the video.                                PLAY BALL!!!!!

Kelly can make the bullwhip sing!    This horse was brought down from Plattsburg. Was having issues with spooking.

SELLING YOUR HORSE

There is a market for good, broke, honest horses. I will take the horse to the park,
ride the trails, cross the creeks, up the hills, down the hills, on the roads, turkeys, deer,
expose the horse to much.

LESSONS

Contact me (e-mail, text or call) at kelsitterdowns@aol.com, 816-547-9508 for info

Fees

$30 per hr for individual lessons.

I will start with the basics. When I feel that you are ready, I will take you to the park to  ride the trails. Blue & Gray has a wide variety of trails; easy trails, around the hay and crop fields; challenging trails, down the hills, across the creeks, up the hills.

$25 per hr for group lessons.

Two of my lesson girls; "pink boots", only way to ride.

Tackling part of the obstacle course.  Down the trails.  And out the gate they go to the park to hit the trails.
